Welcome! Lit47 is a full-service, community-oriented independent bookstore operated by The Center for Fiction. We play to our strengths: our book knowledge, our relationships with writers and our great events at the Center, and our experience in helping you find books you'll love. Lit47's stock includes gently used books donated by our friends—voracious readers, prolific writers, and publishing professionals—so you can be sure we'll always have a great selection—mysteries, thrillers, sci-fi, romance, non-fiction, and the contemporary literary fiction we love best. We also carry a carefully curated selection of new books, including both new and classic titles and those recommended to us by critically acclaimed authors, as well as a full range of literary magazines. And we provide shoppers with our own highly selective assortment of very special cards, gifts and book-related products.
Book Donations
Donate books to Lit47 now-the more books we have, the more we can sell to benefit our programs, so it's always a good time to donate. You can hand deliver or ship them to us at the address below, and we will provide you with a tax receipt. If you have a large number of books to donate, call us at (212) 755-6710 and we will arrange a pickup.
